The climbs up Boulder Creek are in a remote setting in the foothills of the Talkeetnas.  The approach distance can be somewhere on the order of 10 plus miles.  As one can see from the pictures, the known climbs up this drainage are definitley worth the effort. 

Most that head into this valley start their journey by making access by following Purinton Creek.  The Purinton Creek access is at the bridge that crosses the Glen Highway just east of the the large rockwall at Long Lake.  If you are making your approach by snow machine, another option is the trail head just west of Purinton Creek bridge on the Glenn Highway at a large parking pullout on the north side of the road that is used heavily by snow machines.   ***BE AWARE THAT THIS TRAIL CAN SEE HEAVY SNOW MACHINE USE.  STAY VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES TO AVOID BEING HIT***.  Both trails turns left off and  follow the flanks of Anthracite Ridge.  The trail then turns right making its way up into Boulder Creek.  This is an awesome journey into the Alaska backcountry
