Access: From the Glenn Hwy, take the Eklutna Lake turnoff then follow the road back to the Eklutna Lake parking lot (State Parks).  From the parking lot one can either ski, hike, bike, ATV, or snowmachine to the back of Eklutna Lake.  At the back of the lake follow the Eklutna Glacier Trail back into the canyon.  Go to the left of the glacier for approximately 1 mile until you see Hats Off To Herman at the base of the west face of the Mitre.

Route: Grade 5 ice with some moderate sections mixed in. 

Anchor: Bring anchor and v-thread material.
