Already noticing an incredible trend on the Climber's Blog. From Alaska to Canada to the North East, everyone is complaining about a lack of ice to climb. What the hell?

One can always whine about things needing to be better. Truth is, the glass is half full, and I'm thankful for the ice that we have!

Some interesting data from Black Diamond on strength of old ropes. Check out the blog and read the post from January 4th that may make you decide to start retiring those old ropes. Hell, it is a good selling pitch to buy a new rope from BD and it may save your life!

Will Gadd has just climbed a new route and proposed a WI10 rating! Unbelievable. I thought Centercourt in Austria at WI7+ seemed outrageous. Now, Will has set the bar very high indeed.
