Canyon Creek

Postby Clutch » Mon Feb 08, 2010 9:50 am

climbed in Canyon Creek on Saturday. Ice is good, belay ledge at the base is good, snow tunnels to base and top of climb are as good as they will ever be. snow is deeeeeep. shoveled two parking spots but they're probably gone.

corrections/additions to the web info:

walk ~ 200 yards north from the parking area before heading down. to get to the creek without a rappel, head down at the north end of the guardrail. head more or less straight down, then climb alders down through the cliff at the bottom. walk north along the creek to the climb (~100 yards).

to get to the top of the climb, head north another ~200 feet and walk down the gully. right now there are three trails as you walk north: 1st was a mistake, ignore. 2nd leads to the creek and the base. 3rd leads to the top of the climb.

climb is more like 70 meters...best belay is at the top of the first pillar on the climbers right.

GPS at the base: 60 45.894N
149 26.841W

Thanks for the info, Clutch! We are currently working on some additions to the site, which should be out soon. We'll get your info incorporated before the new stuff goes live. Hope you had fun on the route.
