South Fork River

The headwaters of the South Fork River start deep in the backcountry glaciers and drain into the Matanuska River near the Lion's Head formation.  This area is home to the more popular Caribou Creek climbs but other routes exist in this area on drainages that flow into the South Fork.  Many accomodations exist like the Glacier View RV Camp and the Sheep Mountain Lodge for an extended stay.
