The site is designed to provide ice climbing information in an easy to use format. However, it is important to note several tips for getting around on the website.
Several methods exist for getting to a particular climb. A "the climbs" link in the top bar navigation allows one to find a particular climb by using a few different indices. The quickest way to get to an area is to use the state map which is visible on every page. Just simply click your mouse cursor on the text of an area on the Alaska state map.
TOPO! maps provided by National Geographic have been used to provide clear locations of individual climbs listed on the website. The link for a "topo map" for a particular area is available as a link on the right hand side of the page under the image credits. A pop-up window will appear for the topo map. In some cases, one must enlarge this pop-up window to get the biggest view available for the map. Also, it is possible to print these topos so that they can be taken into the field. Simply put your mouse cursor over the map image and a small window will appear over the map in the top left hand corner that will allow one to print among other options. |
