Ice Guide : Southcentral : North Anchorage : Hunter Creek : Wild Earp

Wild Earp

Rating: WI5/6
Length: 120 meters

We believe this route takes an alternate line to Tinsle. Climb over the main curtain, Curtain Call, and ascend to the right ending just left of the O' Christmas Tree pillar. Climb through overhanging terrain heading right and finish on a sometimes continuous line to the canyon rim. This photo does not show the continuous line of ice ending on the canyon rim.

FA: Eddie Phay & Jonie Earp, 2000

Anchor: Alders exist at the finish. Bring v-threads for the descent.

Alert: Hunter Creek lies in or adjacent to private property areas. It is uncertain if any access issues exist for this area. Check with the local climbing groups within the community to determine the current access issues for this area. Also, vandalism and theft have been high at times in this secluded area. DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN YOUR VEHICLE UNATTENDED.
